That is the very link I linked! And it is so odd, because I am seeing that on some browsers it returns a 404 and others it works? I didn't realize it was archived when I shared it. I think that's the problem. Thank you for alerting me to it! I am going to find a more recent one to share.

One thing that gives me hope is that 18-29 yr olds are voting blue by almost 2-1 margins, while the bulk of evangelical voters are baby boomers. I think there are plenty of good stories of young people making things better, including this nice story about how students at UMichigan helped one another during cold, hours-long voting lines:

Also, I read a reference this week to the "multi-generational resistance" that Black people have developed to survive through all the danger and turmoil. It's a lens I plan to use more as I think about how to be helpful while navigating these times.

Absolutely, I love this. Thank you so much. I actually meant to link to a few pieces that talked about that and then forgot to at the very end. (I published this at my daughter's ballet class and things were a little hectic!) I am going to include them now!

Meg, thank you again for such a thoughtful piece.

I was going to tell you about my children not being allowed to watch tv at night (this was in the 90s) except for Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers, while I made dinner. I think we finally relented when they were in middle/high school. I don’t think they missed out on much, though my son tells of his first Boy Scout meeting and each boy had to explain his favorite TV show and he said the other boys were shocked he didn’t watch. The kids both read books and still love to read to this day.

And then I realized the piece was about so much more than a parenting decision. I’m not certain how I feel about this election. I’m terribly upset about some of our losses, yet thankful that there were bright spots. I’m most hopeful about the fact so many seem to be educating themselves and engaged in truth-finding.

Wow. I love Derry Girls but mute it when my 17 year old walks in bc of the language and also didn't allow my 3 daughters to watch many of the same channels/shows you don't let your daughters watch for the same reasons. You've given me a whole new perspective on what my daughters may be missing when I judge a show just by its language. And that's only the first layer of this article that has me thinking and nodding along and clicking all the links. Amazing work.
