"We talk about bridge building like it’s a good thing, but maybe it’s bridge burning that’s the virtue."

That quote really gave me pause.

I am definitely of the mind that there are times in life when you HAVE to burn a bridge. Not for wanton troublemaking purposes, but for saving your life or improving your existence.

If you are being abused, exploited, taken advantage of, or just need to rid yourself of toxic people or situations, some bridges are not worth saving.

Yes! There are times when the connection is more about control than anything else.

That last item reminds me of a dear friend of many years ago. When faced with a dilemma where the way forward wasn't clear he liked to say, "We'll burn that bridge when we get to it."
