O Meg--thank you for normalizing the vagaries of menstrual cycles and bodies, and how it takes a toll and for NOT working through it. Seriously, yes to all of that. Spend time with rest. And we'll always eagerly await your next post whenever it happens. Who needs the work week cycle, speaking of cycles, anyway? Created by a white supremacist capitalist patriarchy to control our bodies and labor. So yes to paying attention to our own cycles too! ๐Ÿ’œ

I got really, really into this stuff while dealing with infertility (not just the babymaking part but how it all interacts, affects our lives...and maybe offers us different ideas about what makes a good or "productive" life?). So it's refreshing to see someone else talking about how very real this all is - we've just been trained not to notice it.

Oh Meg, sending you so much support and gentleness. I get different symptoms, but very much agree that yes, having a cycle can be so so hard and exhausting and debilitating, frankly. Thank you for sharing and wishing you rest and space as you emerge x

Not that any of this helps with pain and brain sprain--This seems like the right place to share that on Mastodon I somehow ended up following the account for The Vagina Museum (I mean, I followed on purpose, don't recall how that one crossed my horizon). It's a genuine bricks and mortar museum in the UK and they share *fascinating* history and facts. If you're on Mastodon, here's their account https://toot.community/@vagina_museum@masto.ai and if you're not, here's their list of social accounts https://beacons.ai/v_museum and their website https://www.vaginamuseum.co.uk/. Note also that their posts are deliberately and explicitly inclusive of anyone who may have a vagina or simply be interested in those particular parts; they list their values here https://www.vaginamuseum.co.uk/about/story.
