It’s a given I will be reading this at least 5 more times and talking about it endlessly to my friends.
Moments of OH! I never thought about it that way! THANK YOU!
Last week my favorite was a line about ink moving across the page like frosting - this week’s tidbit is definitely how old dildos are - there’s really no reason to what catches my eye!
On a more serious note - this is helping to inform my thoughts on writing about Manifest Destiny and how religious ideology is used to justify violence. Reflections on my own childhood.
Meg! The pamphlet wars--o how I love this and the meander you take through all of it. I wrote last year about Jane Anger, and the pamphlet wars--I love that those early printings were of women polemicizing their rights. How great that Gabrielle Blair's new work is a type of pamphlet war in that same vein, however infuriating it is that we have to say these things. Glad you're writing about this! (and not to be super annoying, but here's my post on Jane Anger and her railing on the misogyny of her day in the 1600s: https://open.substack.com/pub/ariadnearchive/p/the-need-for-anger?r=dvcar&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web)
Oh my gosh I’ll never be able to read the word “pamphlet” again without a holy rage burning in me! Good Lord. Thank you for this. Excuse me while I go vote and advocate for everyone else to have a vote, too.

Thank you so much
So much i could say, but then it would be my essay, not yours.
If I didn’t already value my subscription, this one would do it.
This was a gift. Will be rereading!
I am so glad you are in our world and saying these things
Brava.

I started laughing at, “Christian Nationalism is a stain left by Aristotle’s premature philosophy” and did not stop until I reached the end.
